08/16/2010 - BRI Supports Manufacturing in North Carolina

BRI is a proud sponsor of the NC Manufacturing Makes it Real Tour, an event that promotes manufacturing all across North Carolina in September and October 2010. 05/19/2010 - BRI Establishes Office in Asia

BRI has established an Asian business office in Taipei, Taiwan to service the rapidly growing emerging markets in Asia. 

BRI President Giles Shih said "this is one small step for BRI, one giant leap forward to help our Asian customers grow healthy, sustainable poultry."

The office will handle many of the specific logistics issues for supplying BRI's enzyme products to its customers and partners in Southeast Asia and the Pacific Rim.

04/15/2010 - BRI President Serves on Advisory Board

 BRI President Giles Shih has been selected to serve on the Advisory Board for the NC State Technology Incubator. Located on NCSU Centennial Campus, the NC State Technology Incubator focuses on economic development for NC by providing office space, resources and services for entrepreneurs and innovative companies.

Dr. Shih says "As a former tenant of the NC State Technology Incubator, I know  first-hand the value that the technology incubator provides for university start-ups and am glad to be able to offer my support and guidance to help the incubator reach its current and future goals."

02/16/2010 - BRI President Speaks at Duke Conference

BRI President Giles Shih was a panelist at the Duke Asia Business Conference held February 24 at the Fuqua School of Business,where he spoke about doing business in Asia and about developing a career as Asians in the US. More information about the conference is posted on the website.

01/18/2010 - BRI Partner Company Opens New Singapore Plant

BRI partner company Novus International announced on January 15th that they have opened a new blending plant in Singapore for mixing of animal feed supplements and as a distribution hub for their Asia Pacific clients. One of the products to be blended at the plant will be BRI's Versazyme product (marketed by Novus as CIBENZA DP100). Please view the press release for more information.

BRI continues to support financially two worthy non-profit organizations this year:

The Interfaith Food Shuttle (www.foodshuttle.org) aims to relieve hunger in the Raleigh-Durham community by collecting and redistributing perishable food.

The Tzu Chi Foundation (www.tzuchi.org) is an international aid organization focused on easing suffering in various parts of the world.

12/10/2009 - BRI Hires New Director of Corporate Development

BRI has hired Hans H. Huang, Esq. to be its Director of Corporate Development and In-House Legal Counsel. Prior to joining BRI, Hans was a partner with a regional law firm with offices in Raleigh, NC and has served as BRI's outside counsel since 2005. In his new role as Director of Corporate Development, Hans will be responsible for leveraging new opportunities to accelerate BRI's growth and developing strategies to expand globally.

"Hans has a progressive, business-oriented approach to practicing law that is very practical and effective", says BRI President Giles Shih. I have enjoyed working with Hans on a wide variety of issues over the years and am pleased that he is now a key member of the BRI team."

Hans received his BS and JD degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is active in a number of local civic and non-profit groups. Hans also owns the award-winning 101 Lounge+Café and local favorite Moonlight Pizza Company, both located in downtown Raleigh.

11/13/2009 - BRI President Speaks at UNC Business School

BRI President Dr. Giles Shih was invited to speak at UNC-Chapel Hill's Kenan-Flagler Business School as a guest lecturer in Professor Michael Roach's class on Managing Intellectual Capital. Giles spoke about how BRI leveraged technology to develop and grow his business from a spin-out of NC State University into a profitable biotechnology company 10 years later.

10/31/2009 - BRI Hires New Market Development Manager

BRI has hired Juan Carlos Rosa-Medina Touzard as its new Market Development Manager, responsible for BRI's new market research, planning, and development. Juan Carlos recently completed his MBA at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and has many years of marketing experience in a variety of industries. A native of Peru, Juan Carlos has helped small family businesses as well as large multinational corporations develop and manage marketing initiatives in several Latin American countries.

"Juan Carlos brings a new perspective to our company with his marketing experience and familiarity with the rapidly growing Latin American markets", says BRI President Giles Shih. "We are very fortunate to have such a diligent and effective new member on the BRI team."
